Trump To Ring Sweden's PM About A$AP Rocky Continued Incarceration
Updated: Jul 30, 2019
US President Donald Trump on July 19, 2019 tweeted he will make a call to Sweden's Prime Minister Stefan Löfven to discuss quick release of the controversially incarcerated famous rapper A$AP Rocky. According to the president, his tweet followed a conversation he had with rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West.
A$AP Rocky was sent back to prison after a brief appearance in a magistrate court in Stockholm on the afternoon of July 19, 2019. The prison conditions under which the rapper is been held are reportedly appalling and inhumane. This sort of treatment of the famous African American artist is beginning to raise some crucial questions in some quarters, about whether it has something to do with de facto racism, particularly against Africans and people of African descent, that is said to be rife in Sweden.
Rapper A$AP Rocky was in Sweden for a performance at Stockholm's Smash Festival held on July 2 - 3, 2019. He was arrested together with two members of his entourage in downtown Stockholm on July 3, 2019 for alleged assault.
