Some Norwegian doctors have said that there is a correlation between Astra Zeneca’s covid-19 vaccine and formation of deadly blood clots in some recipients of the vaccine. That was reported by some Nordic media on March 18, 2021.
According to the reports, the conclusion was reached by a group of senior doctors at Oslo University Hospital, after they had examined three patients who developed blood clots after been vaccinated with the embattled Astra Zeneca vaccine. One of the patients has died.
The doctors are said to have explained what happened after the patients were vaccinated with the Astra Zeneca vaccine as thus.
The Astra Zeneca vaccine triggered massive immune response in the patients, that in turn activated formation of blood clots. The doctors firmly concluded that there are no other factors responsible for the formation of blood clots in the three recipients of the vaccine.
Despite the findings and conclusion by the Norwegian doctors, European Medicines Agency (EMA) on the evening of March 18, 2021 endorsed continuation of use of the vaccine in European Union bloc, saying the vaccine is safe and effective.
