South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa on May 1, 2022, ran for cover after furious miners on strike stormed the stage where he was delivering May Day rally speech. That was reported by some media on May 2, 2022.
The incident is said to have occurred in the city of Rustenburg, south west of the SADC country. The miners who seemed not to have been amused by the president's speech, started boing at him and stormed the stage. Fearing for the presient's safety, his security agents reportedly took him away quickly from the scene.
The miners are striking over wage increase, reportedly demanding only about $10 per month above what employers are willing to offer. _____________________________ © 2015 - 2022 Africauptodate. All Rights Reserved
