Sifan Hassan Sets New Women's Mile World Record

In an incredible run at Monaco's Diamond League on July 12, 2019, Sifan Hassan set a new world record for women's mile.

Sifan Hassan, a Dutch of Ethiopian descent, ran the mile in a time of 4:12.33, hence smashing previous 23 year old record time for the distance, of 4:12.56 set by Svetlana Masterkova of Russia in 1996.
