Popular African American rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black were among dozens of people who were pardoned by Ex-President Donald Trump just hours before he departed the White House for good as the 45th US president on January 20, 2020.
On the one hand, Lil Wayne born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr was granted full pardon for a charge of alleged federal offence related to possession of a firearm, and that could have led to up to 10 years in jail to the rapper if he were to be found guilty.
On the other hand, Kodak Black born Bill Kahan Kapri was pardoned for a 46 months jail sentence he was serving in a federal prison for weapons charges.
