Protests In Minneapolis, MN, After Police Are Captured In Video Killing An African American
Updated: Jun 8, 2020
Massive protests erupted in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, in the evening of May 26, 2020, following emergence of a video that showed vividly four policemen, two of them of European descent and the other two of Asian descent, killing an unarmed handcuffed African American man they claimed to have been arresting, on May 25, 2020.
In the video, the four policemen were captured pinning down the African American man, namely George Floyd, on the floor of a street in Minneapolis, with one of the European American policeman deliberately suffocating him by kneeling on his neck. Mr Floyd was heard yelling for help saying he could not breath, but the brutal policeman kept his knee on his neck. He was later taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The four policemen have reportedly been fired and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has began investigating the barbaric murder of George Floyd.
Brutal killing of unarmed African Americans particularly by European American police in the guise of making arrests is commonplace in USA. Several years ago, another African American man was killed by some European American police in New York City in very similar manner.
