Legendary Movie Star James Earl Jones Dies

Legendary movie star James Earl Jones is dead. He died in New York City on September 9, 2024, at the age of 93.


James Earl Jones has been described in many quarters as one of the greatest American movie stars of all time. He made his debut as a movie actor in 1964, with a starring role in the movie Dr Strangelove (1964).


However, it was his voice role as Darth Vader in the movies Star Wars (from 1977), that probably propelled him to the global movie stage, hence stardom and massive wealth. From that point in time he became literally unstoppable, receiving and taking numerous powerful starring roles in great movies, that included, among others, the following:



  • Starring role as King Jaffe Joffer of Zamunda in Eddie Murphy's movie Coming to America (1988)

  • Starring role in the movie The Hunt for Red October (1990)

  • Voice role as Mufasa in the iconic animated movie The Lion King (1994)


James Earl Jones has been honored massively for his outstanding contribution to the movie industry and entertainment at large, with many trophies by some world class award organizations. The latter include the Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, and Tony organizations, among others.
