King Misuzulu kaZwelithini Of Zulu Kingdom Coronated In State Ceremony

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini (48) of South Africa’s Zulu Kingdom was coronated in a state ceremony held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on October 29, 2022. The ceremony was attended by President Cyril Ramaphosa who gave the new king, a certificate that expresses recognition of the king by the government of South Africa.

Also attending the historic ceremony was King Mswati III of Swaziland and other dignitaries.
The state coronation ceremony follows a traditional coronation ceremony that took place at the KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Place in Nongoma town, KwaZulu-Natal, on August 20, 2022.
The Zulu Kingdom entails the Zulu people who are largest ethnic group in South Africa and predominant in KwaZulu-Natal Province.
The Zulu Kingdom is one of South Africa’s 8 ethnic based monarchies that are incorporated in the country’s Constitution hence recognized by the government of South Africa. The monarchies are also funded by the government of South Africa.
