King Goodwill Zwelithini of the Zulu Kingdom in South Africa has died, reported some media. He died in the morning of March 12, 2021 at the age of 72.
The Zulu Kingdom alias the Zulu Nation is one of a few remaining kingdoms in Africa. Administratively, the kingdom is part of South Africa’s province of KwaZulu-Natal under South Africa’s Republican Constitution.
The Zulu Kingdom’s inhabitants are called the Zulu people and constitute the largest ethnic group in South Africa at about 11 million.
King Goodwill Zwelithini came power in 1968 after his father died. It is expected that the king will be succeeded by one of his 28 children from 6 wives.
