Hotel Rwanda Movie Hero Paul Rusesabagina’s family has filed a $400 million US lawsuit against the Government of Rwanda, over his alleged kidnapping and torture. That was reported by some media on May 1, 2022.
According to the reports, news about the filing of the lawsuit was announced by the family on April 30, 2022.
The lawsuit per se was reportedly filed in a court in Washington DC on February 22, 2022 and served to the Government of Rwanda on March 8, 2022.
Paul Rusesabagina (67) is currently serving a 25-year jail sentence in Rwanda after a court in the capital Kigali found him guilty of terrorism charges in September 2021.
How Mr Rusesabagina who is a Belgian citizen, US green card holder, and reportedly staunch critic of the Government of Rwanda, ended up in Kigali where he was arrested and jailed, so far remains very circumscribed if not a mystery. _____________________________ © 2015 - 2022 Africauptodate.
