Generation Of Electricity From Ethiopia’s Gigantic Hydroelectric Dam Commences

Generation of electricity from Ethiopia’s gigantic hydroelectric dam on the Blue Nile commenced on February 20, 2022. That was reported by some media.


According to the reports, the inaugural generation of electricity from the dam that is called Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam alias GERD, marks the completion of phase one of the prestigious and ambitious hydropower plant project and entails generation of 375 MW of electricity from one turbine.
