Famous British double agent George Blake who became Russian is dead. He died in Moscow, Russia, on December 26, 2020 at the age of 98.
George Blake was British MI5 spy and Russian spy simultaneously during the Cold War. The British found out that he was a double agent in 1961. He was arrested, prosecuted, and convicted to 42-year jail sentence in one of Britain’s high security jails, Wormwood Scrubs Prison in London.
However, despite the excellent reputation of the British security machinery, in 1966 Mr Blake escaped and fled to Russia, and got himself Russian citizenship. He then married a beautiful Russian woman and lived happily in Moscow thereafter!
According to the reports, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin have paid a warm tribute to George Blake saying Mr Blake sincerely loved Russia.
