Ex-President Jacob Zuma of South Africa was released from jail on medical parole on September 5, 2021. That was reported by some media.
Jacob Zuma (79) has been serving a 15-month sentence in Estcourt Jail in Estcourt town, KwaZulu-Natal, for contempt of court since July 7, 2021. However, he got sick while in there and has been receiving medical treatment in a hospital outside the jail at the time of the medical parole by South Africa’s correctional services authority.
The medical parole implies that ex-President Jacob Zuma can now go home from hospital and serve rest of his sentence in community by adhering to conditions attached to the parole.
