Dame Sandra Mason Nominated First President Of Barbados

Dame Sandra Mason has been nominated first president of Barbados when the country becomes a republic. That was announced by Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley on August 21, 2021, according to some Caribbean media on August 23, 2021.
Barbados is expected to ditch the Queen of England as its head of state by November 30, 2021 and become a republic with a president as head of state. Currently Dame Sandra Mason is the representative of the Queen in Barbados, under the capacity of Governor General.
