Botswana will hold general elections on October 23, 2019. That was announced by the country's Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on September 2, 2019.
The general elections will entail election of members of parliament known there as national assembly representatives, as well as election of local government representatives.
There is no separate presidential election in Botswana. The leader of the political party that secures highest number of seats in the national assembly election becomes new president.
