Actress Cicely Tyson Dies

Actress and former model Cicely Tyson is dead. She died on January 28, 2021 at the age of 96.

The iconic African American actress had her debut role in movie starring in 1956 in a movie called Carib Gold, and was one of the key stars in the popular American TV series Roots (1977).

In recognition of her contribution to the movie industry and other fields, Cicely Tyson has been honored massively with numerous awards that include, among others, 3 Emmy Awards, a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame (1997), Presidential Medal of Freedom (2016), and a honorary Oscar (2018).
