Tanzanian Billionaire Dewji Kidnapped At Gun Point
One of Tanzania's richest persons, Mohammed Dewji (43), has been kidnapped by two unidentified armed men, reported Tanzanian media on October 11, 2018.
The kidnapping is said to have taken place at about 06.30 hours on October 11, 2018, at the entrance of a luxury hotel's gym in Dar es Salaam's up-market quarter of Oysterbay, as the entrepreneur and staunch philanthropist was arriving for his regular morning workout.
A former member of parliament under the banner of the country's ruling party CCM, Mr Dewji's net worth is estimated at $1.5 billion by Forbes as of 2018.
