On May 25, 2018, Mia Mottley was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Barbados, at the Government House in Bridgetown.
The inauguration followed her Barbados Labour Party (BLP)'s landslide victory in the country's 2018 general elections held on May 24, 2018. BLP delivered a merciless defeat to the opposition Democratic Labour Party (DLP), by taking all the 30 seats of country's parliament. The latter is called House of Assembly.
