20 Killed In Stampede In Moshi, Tanzania
At least 20 people were killed in a stampede in the city of Moshi on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, northern Tanzania, on the evening of February 1, 2020. That was reported by various media on February 2, 2020.
The stampede is said to have occurred during a Pentecostal church service in a stadium in the city, as a large crowd of excited worshipers rushed to get anointed with what they believed to be blessed oil from a pastor called Boniface Mwamposa.
Boniface Mwamposa, a self-proclaimed apostle, is said to have been attracting massive crowds in his church services through promising worshipers that his so called blessed oil could eradicate diseases and deliver mammoth personal material wealth to those anointed with it.
