12 Perish After Tropical Storm Laura Batters Haiti And Dominican Republic

At least a total of 12 people perished Haiti and Dominican Republic after Tropical Storm Laura battered the two Caribbean countries on August 23, 2020, reported some media on August 24, 2020. 9 people are said to have died in Haiti, with 3 in Dominican Republic.
The storm is said to have damaged electricity supply networks and buildings as well as washed away roads, among others. In Dominican Republic more than 1 million people are said to have been left without electricity.
